A symposium dedicated to legal influences between France and Thailand

Marking the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Thailand, Thammasat University, in collaboration with the liaison magistrate service at the French Embassy, hosted a Legal Symposium on "Legal Perspectives and Influences" in Bangkok on June 9–10, 2026, bringing together academics, judges, institutions, and experts from both countries.

On June 1st, Jérémy JAMMES will participate in the panel discussion “The Indochinese Peninsula : From War to Peace” with a presentation titled “Actors, Diplomacy, and Religious Soft Power in Vietnam Since 1945.” On June 2nd, he will co-moderate, alongside Nicolas BADALASSI, Professor of Contemporary History at Sciences Po Aix, the panel discussion “From ASEAN to the Indo-Pacific : Shifting Geopolitical Challenges.”

Seminar on Road Safety in Southeast Asia: Issues and Prospects

The seminar is jointly organized by the French Embassy in Thailand and the Research Institute on Contemporary Southeast Asia (IRASEC). It will gather experts from Thailand, the United Nations and France, providing a comparative approach to global issues of road safety and formulating concrete recommendations. It will include three round-table discussions and presentations led by experts from various Southeast Asian countries and France (magistrates and police officers), for a comparative approach to the context and challenges of road safety in Southeast Asia, and the formulation of concrete recommendations for improving road safety. The round tables will be held in English, with Thai interpretation.

Bringing together the key stakeholders in global health in Thailand and the region and focusing 1) on the impacts of climate change on human health in SEA and 2) on a better anticipation, prevention and preparation for public emergencies and climate change under the One health approach, this meeting will provide space for the region’s climate and health stakeholders — civil society, governments, academies, development and technical partners :

  1. To be equipped with the latest information and updates on climate and health science, evidence and discourses ;
  2. To develop regional collaborations on climate and health and identify common key issues, priorities and concerns ;
  3. To co-create and agree on a multi-stakeholder action agenda on climate and health for the region and recommendations for regional mitigation policies.

IRASEC, the Art History Department of Silpakorn University (Bangkok), the Musée national d’art moderne – Centre Pompidou and Amis du Centre Pompidou (Paris) are organizing an international symposium on private patronage in modern and contemporary art in Southeast Asia. Specialists from four different countries will meet on Saturday February 24 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center to discuss this issue. This event is supported the Embassy fo France in Thailand.
