It is with great sorrow that we learn from François-Xavier BONNET, IRASEC associate researcher, the death of two Filipino colleagues, Aileen BAVIERA, ex-dean of the Asia center of the University of the Philippines, renowned sinologist and president of the Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress foundation, and of Alan ORTIZ, president of the Philippines Council for Foreign Relations, both carried away by COVID-19. Aileen had recently participated in the conference on the South China Sea organized by François-Xavier BONNET for IRASEC, De La Salle University and the France Embassy in the Philippines on November 29, 2019.
The entire IRASEC team extends its sincere condolences to their families and loved ones and assures them of their deep sympathy.
