Doctoral contracts with international mobility
The InSHS opens a call for applications for the award of 4 doctoral contracts of 36 months in autumn for a submission of the application is usually mid-December. The purpose of the call is to examine applications submitted by a supervisor or co-supervisors qualified to supervise a thesis in a doctoral school, who propose a doctoral subject.
These dossiers must always be designed on the principle of a scientific set-up developed jointly between a research unit in France whose CNRS is supervised or co-supervised and a research unit abroad such as IRASEC, in which doctoral students must spend 20 months. Subjects involving several units abroad are admissible. All disciplines in the humanities and social sciences are eligible.
For the selected subjects, the supervisors are responsible for managing the recruitment of the doctoral student, after validation of the application by the InSHS. The doctoral contract begins on 1 October of the following year. The proposed subject must be the subject of a thesis with a first registration at the beginning of the 2019 academic year. Applications directly submitted by doctoral candidates will not be evaluated.
