Jean-Philippe Eglinger holds a PhD from INALCO (2005), with a thesis titled “Genesis, Current Status, and Future Prospects of General Corporations (Tổng Công ty) in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Based on Vietnamese Sources.” He currently serves as the head of work-study programs at INALCO, where he also teaches courses within the Master’s programs in “Business Vietnamese” and “Intercultural Communication and Training.”
He has published numerous articles on Vietnam, including “Economic Warfare in Peacetime : Vietnam’s Power Strategy” [La guerre économique du temps de paix – Stratégie de puissance du Vietnam], featured in the *Revue Internationale d’Intelligence Économique* (2024/2, Vol. 16, June 5, 2024, p. 226).

In June 2023, Jean-Philippe co-authored the book “Initiation to Vietnamese: Language and Culture” [Initiation vietnamien – langue et culture] with Đào Huy Linh, published by Éditions Ellipses. As a follow-up to this work, he is currently developing a trilingual glossary (French–Vietnamese–English) focused on innovation—a project supported by INALCO and the French Embassy in Vietnam.

Furthermore, Jean-Philippe Eglinger is a participant in the “Gecko” project (a recipient of the 2022 ASTRID grant). Led by INALCO, INP Bordeaux/ENSC, and IRSEM, this project functions as a “design laboratory for cognitive warfare and influence operations” within the Asia-Pacific region. In this capacity, he authored the article “Typologies of War and Conflict : An Introduction to Vietnamese Doctrines and Perceptions” [Typologies de guerres et conflictualités : introduction aux doctrines et perceptions vietnamiennes], published by ISTE OpenScience in February 2024 (pp. 17–22).
