Adeline MARTINEZ
After a bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of Poitiers, Adeline Martinez pursued her studies by integrating the Master in Anthropology at Aix-Marseille University. It was during these two years that she began a specialization about forced displacement and especially about population’s resettlement. She is currently a PhD candidate attached to the IrAsia laboratory in Marseille. She is interested in the social changes and the issues that emerge from a population resettlement policy in a so-called "natural disaster areas” on the Merapi volcano in Central Java. Her approach consists in enriching the reflection on displacements in a post-"natural" disaster context by proposing a dynamic view on the relationship between society and territory and on the mechanisms of its re-composition.
