Anne RAFFIN
Anne Raffin is Associate Professor in Sociology at the National University of Singapore, specialized in historical and comparative sociology. She has written on colonial and contemporary Vietnam. Her recent publications include “Youth Mobilization and Ideology : Cambodia from the Late Colonial Era to the Pol Pot Regime” (Critical Asian Studies, 2012) and “Native Policy in Colonial State Formation in Pondicherry (India) and Vietnam : Recasting Ethnic Relations—1870–1920s”, in Sociology and Empire : The Imperial Entanglements of a Discipline (edited by George Steinmetz, 2013). She is currently enlarging her research to French colonial India and working on a manuscript entitled “Imperial Liberalism : The Limits of French Democracy in Pondicherry, India, 1870–1914”.
