Benoît de TRÉGLODÉ is Director of Research at the Institut de recherche stratégique de l’École militaire (IRSEM), Benoît de TRÉGLODÉ holds a doctorate in the history and civilization of Asia (EHESS, Paris), an Habilitation to direct research (HDR at INALCO in 2015), he is also a researcher at CASE (South-East Asia Centre, EHESS-CNRS) and directed the Institute for Research on Contemporary South-East Asia (IRASEC) in Bangkok from 2008 to 2012.
His publications include Heroes and Revolution in Vietnam (National University of Singapore Press / Hawaii University Press, 2012) ; Histoire du Viêt Nam de la colonisation à nos jours (dir., Editons de La Sorbonne, 2018), Mers d’Asie du Sud-Est. Coopérations, intégration et sécurité (co-edited with N. Fau, CNRS Editions, 2018), L’Asie du Sud-Est (special issue of Herodotus magazine in 2020), Les enjeux géopolitiques du Viêt Nam (special issue of Hérodote magazine in 2015) ; Viêt Nam contemporain (co-dir. S. Dovert, Les Indes Savantes, 2009) ; Naissance d’un Etat-Parti, le Viêt Nam depuis 1945 (co-dir. C. Goscha, Les Indes Savantes, 2004), as well as the volumes L’Asie du Sud-Est 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 (co-dir.), IRASEC / Les Indes savantes). He is also the author of several articles on strategic issues in Southeast Asia, including : "Maritime Boundary Delimitation and Sino-Vietnamese Cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin (1994-2016)" in China Perspectives in 2016, "L’Asie du Sud-Est et la Chine de Xi Jinping : le grand accommodement" in Asie – Monde émergents in La documentation française in 2013.
