Founded in Bangkok twenty-five years ago, the Research Institute on Contemporary Southeast Asia has established itself as a major centre of scholarship. On January 5, 2026, Christine Cabasset spoke to the Central News Agency (CNA) in Taiwan about how Southeast Asian countries viewed the U.S. intervention in Venezuela. Her response to Zachary Lee covered the reactions of various countries and the arguments put forward, as well as how those countries perceive the United States.

Le 23 décembre 2025, Christine Cabasset a été interviewée en direct par Florent Rodo sur France 24 sur la dispute entre le Cambodge et la Thaïlande, et a souligné la position aséanienne et la capacité des deux pays de stopper l’affrontement armé. Nous étions alors quelques jours avant le cessez-le-feu décidé entre les deux parties le 27 décembre.

On December 15, 2025, Christine Cabasset spoke about the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand (alongside Juliette Loesch of IFRI) at the National Assembly, at the invitation of the Franco-Cambodian Friendship Group.
